SECONDARY RESEARCH / CASE STUDIES
The name may confuse you, but secondary research is often where research projects begin. And for some projects, it may be the only step needed.
Through secondary research we make use of information that already exists. This LOW COST step can include reviews of internal sales reports, previous research reports, existing studies, government statistics, magazines, journals, online and newspaper articles.
Secondary research also includes case studies. Case studies are an in-depth examination of a single event or series of events experienced by a company, provider, community, type of patient etc.
These studies give you a systematic way to look at the collected data to help you reach a clearer understanding of what happened, why, and what was done about it. Most of us are familiar with case studies as they are used in law or health care. But, there are many opportunities to use case study research in a variety of environments.
Secondary research can provide an almost infinite amount of information for you to use. The key is knowing what data will work for you and what will be of little or no value.
That’s why we analyze the data, provide you with a usable summary and show you how these findings relate to your current problem.
